The Peasant & The Pear is one of our favorite locally owned businesses. Rodney, the owner and head chef takes great pride in each meal that goes out to every table and he often goes from table to table visiting to make sure everyone is enjoying their meals. The ambiance is wonderful, especially if you can get a table outside in the courtyard area when the weather is nice to listen to the live music. The lunch menu is just as impressive!

As someone mentioned before, the chef came to our table to chat and make sure we enjoyed our food. That is always nice when the chef takes time to "make rounds". The service is GREAT, and the food is absolutely incredible - especially for the price! I will be back again, and again, and again.

In a town exploding with either burger/pub food or 'upscale' dining, the Peasant and the Pear has been a nice change. The food is done right and the selection of food is what downtown needs. I couldn't stop thinking of the lamb with polenta after my last visit.
I love the atmosphere and the food!

If you are looking for a great atmosphere to dine for great food, this is the place. The prices are amazingly reasonable too.

Upscale restaurant but with a family friendly atmosphere. Signature dish is the pork chop for $15ish. They have a wonderful lunch menu also reasonably priced. My kids really enjoy the kids menu.
