My 12 y.o. daughther LOVED going to guitar lessons with Brett. He really connects with the kids. I LOVED his website! Pretty much any question I had was always answered there. What I like best: he makes is fun, but takes it seriously |

Brett is an amazing player and an amazing teacher. He has every lesson planned out for years to come. He prints out a new song or two every week, and he provides an instructional CD to accompany all lessons. His lessons are designed to introduce certain aspects of guitar playing through specific songs, and you learn cool songs along the way. You won't find a better guitar instructor anywhere! |

Brett is teaching 2 of my sons who have very different levels of experience. One has been playing for 3 years and the other is a beginner. Both of them rave about Brett and think he is the best! We have tried other teachers in the past and they have learned the most from Brett by a long shot. My 13 and 11 year olds describe him as "cool", "patient", "a total professional". I couldn't think of a better endorsement! |

Very patient, honest, and organized. Offers great structured program for all ages, from beginner to advanced. Take home notes, lesson, and practice CD's are all top notch. By the end of the course, you will know how to play over 100 songs. |

I always dreamed of learning guitar, yet was always intimidated by it, after researching teachers online for a month or so, I settled with Brett. One of the best decisions I've ever made!!
I echo all the previous comments. I am in my fifth month of lessons with Brett and it has been wonderful. Yes it is challenging, but nothing in life worth doing, is easy. Be prepared to commit, It just takes practice. Every week or so you'll do something that sounds cool and it keeps you going. |

The other reviewers have already effectively captured the highlights of Brett's teaching abilities and curriculum (and I agree with all of the comments that I've read so far.) Thinking hard about what to add, I came up with the following.
When I poured over Brett's website a couple years ago, I must admit that I was more than a little unsure about my ability to make the level of commitment that Brett requires of his students. The web site's tone is necessarily stern to ensure that only committed students sign up for his lessons. So when I went in for my first lesson, I was a little surprised at how easy-going, patient and friendly he was (and still is).
After a year of lessons, I'm still so impressed with the fact that I'm actually playing the guitar -- at age 44 something I never thought I would be able to do.
Final Note:
Being an Instructional Designer, I can truly appreciate all of the subtle techniques Brett employs to get his point across to me - from the use of colored pens to highlight points in the text, to the choice of colored text in his book, to the layout of the notebook pages as he places them in my binder. Brett shows an attention to detail that screams, "I'm serious about my role as an instructor. I WANT to help you learn guitar and I'm not just in this to make ends meet until something better comes along."
If you're interested in a well thought-out, methodical approach to learning guitar, then you can't do much better than Brett Gregory. |

When my son began to show an interest in playing the guitar, we suggested he take lessons, an idea which he immediately rejected. His fears were allayed after his first lesson with Brett. He came out smiling and has been looking forward to his lessons for the past 2 1/2 years. |

What attracted me to seek lessons from Brett was the organization of his curriculum and the fact that he has a private studio. I've been to several teachers, and none of them have a system like Brett. In addition to the songs he lays out in a binder he creates a CD for you that have the songs played at regular/accurate speed, but also at a slowed down version so you can really learn how to play it. Once you do it is easier to eventually speed up and play along with real version of the song. Overall you won't be disappointed with his methods and his energy and as someone earlier wrote, if he is booked get on his list for the next opening, it is worth every penny!

What a great place to go and take lessons! Brett is an awesome instructor. If you're waiting to get into classes with him - it's worth the wait. The program is straightforward, you can play songs from the beginning, which just makes it fun. Learning is made easier with his program - there's always a challenge, but it's attainable with practice! Thanks Brett! |

Brett has designed an instructional program that covers it all, taking students through a variety of musical styles that build upon each other. His teaching style puts students at ease and he makes corrections in a caring and helpful way. I have been a teacher for 33 years, and I give Brett 5 stars. |
